Our Story

From 1958, with care.

DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, is a Post-Graduate Co-Educational Institution that opened its gates in 1958 — the same year a young Republic was still drawing the lines of its newest city. Founded in the educational tradition of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and the Arya Samaj, the college grew with Chandigarh, becoming an integral part of the city's socio-cultural fabric.

In the 68 years since, the college has graduated generations of students who have become Olympic gold medallists and Test cricketers, Supreme Court justices and High Court judges, Vice Chancellors and Padma awardees, National Award–winning artists, civil servants, surgeons, soldiers, entrepreneurs — and a Founder of Flipkart.

What was missing — until now — was a single, modern, alumni-led platform to keep this immense fraternity in touch with each other and with the alma mater. DAVOS, founded in 2024, is that platform.

Our Mission

What we set out to do.

DAVOS works towards four ends — none more important than the others, all serving the same long arc of giving back to the college that gave us our start.

One
Reunion & Belonging
To hold annual reunions and decade-wise meets that bring old batchmates back together — in Chandigarh, in Delhi, in Mumbai, in the Gulf, wherever DAV-10 alumni have made their lives.
Two
Mentorship
To match current students of DAV-10 with alumni in their chosen fields — for advice, for internships, for the kind of practical guidance that no syllabus can teach.
Three
Networking & Community
To connect alumni across cities, professions and generations — through chapters, professional groups, and a directory that helps DAV-10 graduates find one another wherever they have made their lives.
Four
Stewardship of Legacy
To curate, document and tell the story of DAV-10's alumni — properly, accurately, and with the dignity that 68 years of educational service demand.
Our Place

In partnership with the college.

DAVOS does not exist apart from DAV College, Sector 10. We are an alumni-led body operating under the patronage of the Principal, and in working partnership with the college's official Alumni Association.

The college brings legitimacy, records, and the campus. DAVOS brings energy, technology, organising capacity, and a network of chapters across India and abroad. The two roles complement each other; neither replaces the other.

DAVOS is a registered Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 — independent in its working, transparent in its accounts, and accountable to its members.

What We Stand For

Three commitments.

Above politics. DAVOS is rigorously non-partisan. Our membership cuts across every shade of political opinion in the country, and our work is for the college, not for any party or cause beyond it.

No personal gain. All office bearers serve voluntarily, without remuneration. Every rupee raised is accounted for, audited, and applied to the purposes for which it was given.

Open to every batch. Whether you graduated in 1962 or 2022, whether you took a B.Com, a B.Sc., a B.A. or a postgraduate degree, whether you spent one year here or five — if you walked through the college's gates as a student, you belong with us.
